New Product Launch - The Sequoia Dual Impact Tonne

Today we launched the Sequoia Carbon Dual Impact Tonne – two strikingly different carbon solutions bound together to create a single more robust carbon credit.

At The Great Reserve, we believe that restoring balance to our climate system requires more than good intentions — it demands intelligent design. That’s exactly why we created our newest offering: The Sequoia Dual Impact Tonne - crafted with a simple but powerful principle in mind: create an ultra-robust carbon unit by combining two solutions that perfectly balance out one another’s shortfalls.

The result is a powerful blend of present and future climate solutions. Each Sequoia Dual Impact Tonne pairs a verified carbon offset from renewable wind energy—delivering immediate emissions avoidance—with a forward-looking commitment to long-term carbon removal through the growth of our Giant Sequoia trees. By combining real-time impact with nature-based sequestration, the Sequoia Dual Impact Tonne provides both certainty and legacy: a tonne reduced today, and a tonne grown to protect tomorrow. It's a smarter, more complete way to fight climate change—now and for generations to come.

Below is how we view the respective characteristics of carbon removed via the growing of the famous Giant Sequoia trees as part of The Great Reserve, and carbon emissions avoided via the displacement of fossil fuel generated energy with Wind Power.

The Power of Complementary Strengths

The above shows a near perfect match for balancing out their respective shortfalls as standalone carbon solutions.

Sequoia Trees begin pulling carbon out of the atmosphere almost immediately, but it is decades before real impact is reached – however other attributes are brought to bear being nature-based, co-benefiting biodiversity, and via assisted migration protecting the future of a species on the brink in its natural US habitat, currently on the IUCN Endangered Species Red List.

Wind Power, on the other hand, provides an immediate climate benefit by displacing fossil fuel generated energy for the grid, easily quantified via MW output.  On purchase and the retiring of a credit there is no project risk or execution risk as buyers have the comfort of knowing the carbon emissions have already been avoided.

By combining these two, Sequoia Dual Impact becomes greater than the sum of its parts.

Bridging the Time Gap

This bundle bridges a critical gap in the carbon removal timeline. The wind power solution acts immediately, avoiding carbon emission in the near term. Meanwhile, the Sequoia trees are providing long term carbon draw down and relative permanence for centuries to come. As the mechanical solution tapers in impact over time, the biological one is just beginning to hit its stride.

This means your carbon removal isn’t just happening now — it has an acting legacy that will endure.

Diversified Risk, Higher Integrity

In addition by stacking the two projects into a single credit, risk is diversified. Nature-based solutions carry risks from climate impacts and natural disasters. Wind solutions are already certified and measured, but can be challenged for additionality and not having any removal capacity.

The Sequoia Carbon Dual Impact Tonne offers both speed and security, natural and engineered, short-term results and long-term durability. It’s not just a blend — it’s a balancing act designed to increase the integrity and resilience of every tonne of carbon emission accounted for - and for every one tonne of CO2 emission, over time two tonnes will be offset, providing a surplus benefit to the environment.

A Smarter Path Forward

We launched this product because taking action to address the climate crisis is complex — and our solutions need to strike at more than one target. Relying on a single approach is too limited. Pairing two such contrasting methods is strategic.

If you're looking to make a real impact with your carbon removal investment, Sequoia Dual Impact is your opportunity to support innovation, regeneration, and permanence — all in one.
